JurTrans is a UK-registered specialist legal and financial translation practice, established in 1997 and based in London. Led by John O’Shea (LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M.), a lawyer-linguist with extensive academic and professional experience, JurTrans provides Greek-to-English and English-to-Greek legal and financial translation services for law firms, legal departments and private clients in Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and internationally.
Since its establishment, JurTrans has specialised in translating complex legal and financial documents, with particular expertise in the terminology and legal concepts of the Greek and Cypriot legal systems.
JurTrans was founded by John O’Shea, a legally qualified translator, researcher and educator with extensive experience in Greek-English legal translation.
John has taught Environmental Law, European Law and related subjects at Queen’s University Belfast and Keele University. He is currently a Visiting Researcher at the Centre for Translation Studies, University of Surrey, where his academic interests include legal translation, comparative law and the implications of artificial intelligence for legal translation practice.
For more than a decade, John also taught advanced legal and financial translation at Glossologia, a specialist translation school in Athens. His involvement in professional education and academic research informs JurTrans’s approach to complex translation assignments.

These publications reflect his specialist knowledge of Greek law and the challenges involved in translating legal concepts between Greek civil law and English legal terminology.
