The Riga Graduate School of Law is offering an interesting postgraduate degree in the field of legal linguistics. This is a full-time degree based in Riga. All courses are taught in English.

The programme opens with an introductory module. This features courses aimed at providing basic knowledge and concepts of legal and language sciences. Students with a legal background acquire basic knowledge in language sciences, while students with a language or other background acquire the necessary basis for legal studies and legal thinking.

The third module consists of elective courses in law, chosen from amongst a wide variety of other RGSL masters programmes courses depending on the student’s specialisation. An opportunity is also available to improve skills in translating legal texts into Latvian as target language.

Programme activities are scheduled “executive style” (i.e. evenings and Saturdays) so as not to interfere with other activities. Cycles of lectures/classes take place every other week.
